Random Encounters may occur any time the player character travels through the wilderness of Arkham. They may entail scripted events or combat. Certain encounters will only be available to the character after beginning a particular quest or after having engaged a particular NPC.
Combat Encounters[ | ]
There is no shortage of combat available throughout Arkham. Random combat encounters may be had with:
If a character detects enemies while travelling they will be given the option of avoiding combat:

Scripted Encounters[ | ]
Scripted encounters will force the character to make a choice or (more likely) perform a skill check in order to escape a dangerous situation. There are a number of scripted encounters the character may chance upon:
