Billy Crumb is an NPC in Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones.

Profile[ | ]

Billy Crumb can be a Henchman.

Adding to Party[ | ]

Billy appears on Riverside after starting «The Whisperer in Darkness» quest.

Noticing a Player character passing by, he says the phrases such as “Is that you?”, “Can it be?” etc.

If the Player character starts a dialogue with him, it turns out that Billy mistook him/her for someone familiar. He is very happy to see “him” again, although the character, in his words, is only “partially him”. The Player character him/herself can only be perplexed about what Billy needs from him/her. For all attempts to drive him away or learn more about his intentions, Billy will assure him/her that he has “changed” and is now “a good boy”.

After the conversation ends, Billy will automatically join the party as a Henchman.

Story[ | ]

In the course of further dialogues, a character with a sufficient Psychology skill can learn more about Billy.

During the second dialogue, by Psychology skill check, character can find out that Billy took him/her for his dead and reborn father.

After that, during the third dialogue, it turns out that his father’s body is still kept in “the secret room”.

Judging by the dialogue replicas, Billy is a victim of his strict father, who punished his son for the slightest offense. However, it is not known whether this is the reason for his insanity. It is also unknown whether Billy killed his father or if he died naturally.

In Combat[ | ]

In combat Billy Uses a Scalpel or his fists.

Inventory[ | ]

On Billy's body after death, you can find a Baby Rattle and an artifact Finger of Punishment.

How to get rid of[ | ]

In addition to death in battle, a player can get rid of Billy in the following ways:

  • Choose the appropriate reply of the dialogue and shoot him. Humanistic characters can choose this reply and refuse to shoot. For this, they will gain two Sanity Points.
  • During the third dialogue (about "the secret room"), a character with a sufficient Psychology skill can pretend to be Billy's father and send him away from him/herself.
  • During the third dialogue, a character with a sufficient Stealth skill (can be achieved with a Night Walk ritual) can escape from Billy using the appropriate reply.
  • If you go to Honest Bill's with Billy in the party, a scripted event will occur wherein Billy will move away from the player taking Joe Clemence for his father and will be shot by Charley on his order.
